A.) Download Unlock File
1. Log into your account on our website, www.gpsmaps.ca
2. Click on MY GPS ACCOUNT from near the bottom of the menu.
3. By Default, the 'tab' labeled 'BACKROAD GPS MAPS - MICRO SD VERSION' will be selected. Click on the second 'tab' to the right, labeled 'BACKROAD GPS MAPS - DVD VERSION'
4. Scroll down below where it asks you to register product, and find the name of your product ('Province Name - DVD [V5]').
5. Click on the little orange arrow, to the right of your product's name.
6. In the section labeled 'YOUR UNLOCK INFORMATION', click on the link labeled 'Download your GMA file'. By default, it will be saved into the Downloads folder.
B.) Unlock Maps
After Downloading and installing your computer maps into BaseCamp, you will need to unlock them to see the details.
1. Navigate to the location of where you saved the GMA file in step A.6 above.
2. Double click on the .gma file to open it in Garmin MapManager.
3. Click the Install button to install the unlock code. If successful, your maps will now be unlocked.
C.) View Maps in BaseCamp & Change Detail Level
1. Open Garmin BaseCamp
2. Click on the 'Maps' menu. If there is no check mark next to the latest version of 'Backroad Mapbooks v#.0' then click on it to select it and display our maps. If the latest version appears twice, please click on the one that ends with (INSTALLED).
3. Centered at the bottom of the screen in BaseCamp, you will find the map navigation controls, as in the following image.
4. To maximize the detail level, slide the Detail slider all the way to the right hand side.

    If there is a popup with an introduction to BaseCamp, you can close it.
  3. Click on Maps from the top menubar
  4. Click on Manage Map Products.
  5. Go to Unlock Regions

  7. Click on the Unlock Code Files (*.ucx) button in the bottom-right of the window
    VERY IMPORTANT: Select the second option: Unlock Code Files (*.gma)
  8. Choose the unlock file from your Downloads folder

  10. If you downloaded more than one unlock file, repeat steps 5 through 9 above for each unlock file
  11. Close and reopen Garmin BaseCamp
